Volunteers are the heart of each Family Promise Affiliate.

Our dedicated volunteers help us provide emergency shelter, meals and other assistance to homeless families for about one-third the cost of traditional shelters. Family Promise keeps families together and provides them with a safe, supportive and home-like environment.

Two Ways to volunteer with Family Promise:

Volunteer Directly With Us

Without the compassion and generosity of our volunteers who give their time each year, these services would not be available.  Below are some of the way volunteers can get involved to impact the lives of Family Promise of Bristol guests.

• Office Assistant: Answers phones, assists with a variety of clerical tasks, and takes referral information from potential guests.
• Van Driver: Transports guests to and from host congregations daily.

Internships

We have partnered with students from East Tennessee State University, King University, and Emory & Henry College fulfilling a variety of service learning and program competencies.

Home Sweet Home Fundraiser

The Home Sweet Home Dessert Fundraiser features complimentary hors d’oeuvres, entertainment, and desserts. Funds are raised through a combination of silent and live auctions where guests can bid on select desserts and other exclusive items. The dessert fundraiser is Family Promise’s largest annual fundraiser.  This event takes place every April.
